Drama News
Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace finished filming after a year. They released promotional posters and it looks amazing. This drama will be really long, but I am hoping it will be worth it. They took a long time filming, which makes me hopeful that they really worked on quality and with this cast my expectations are really high.
Wallace has so many concubines in this drama. Let the inner palace wars begin.
Lost Love in Time with William Chan and Liu ShiShi released its first trailer. I am not feeling William or any other male character, but ShiShi looks great and the director is the same one from Journey of Flower and Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. On top of that this genre is right down my alley, so I am anticipating this one. Set to be released on July 6th on Dragon TV, tentatively on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It has 45 episodes. I think Chexmix wants to recap it, but she might be too busy recapping all the other 100 dramas coming at us this Summer.
Martial Universe with Yang Yang and Crystal Zhang released more character posters. The name along with the posters make it seem like we will be fighting aliens, but I am told the story has nothing to do with that.
My Story for You with Luo Jin and Zheng Shuang released some posters. It is based on a book by the same name, which is based on the real life love story of the writer and his wife. It is set to have 45 episodes.
Autumn Cicada had its booting ceremony. It will be a spy drama similar to Sparrow. It is suppose to start Ren Jialun, but he is still filming Legend of the White Snake so I am not sure how this is working out. Rest of the cast: Liu Huan, Wang Jinsong, He Dujuan, and Liang Jingxian. It will have 50 episodes. Produced by Zhong Conghai films and directed by Fu Ning and Li Ang.
A Life Time Love with Huang Xiao Ming and Victoria Song is rumored to premiere July 3rd on Dragon TV. Tentatively it will air Monday-Tuesday with 54 episodes. It is an adaptation of Tong Hua’s novel, Once Promised. It has been flying a bit under the radar compared to other dramas set to air this Summer, but I am sure they will start promotions as it gets closer to the release date.
Ratings: Ode to Joy 2 is #1 & #2 on ratings for the week. Song of Phoenix lands at #3, followed by White Deer Plain #4 & #9, Above the Clouds, etc. I don’t know why Fighter of Destiny is not on the list, I think it is getting around ~0.9 on average, which is not bad.
Movie News
The Founding of an Army (Zhou Ya Wen, Ma Tian Yu, Ou Hao, Liu Ye, etc) released its first trailer. The story begins in 1927 at the beginning of the Nanchang uprising, known as the first major Kuomintang–Communist engagement. It is the third installment of a trilogy called the Founding of New China. It has a very extended star studded cast.
WuKong with Eddie Peng released its first trailer.
The House that Never Dies 2 released promotional posters. It is a 3D thriller film about a haunted mansion, Chaonei No. 81. This is based on a real life house that is rumored to be haunted since the 1940’s. It will be directed by Raymond Yip.
Edge of Innocence starring Huang Zitao and Yang Caiyu released a behind the scenes special. It is set to be released May 27th.
Celebrity News
Chen Xue dong, Zhang Ziyi, Huang XiaoMing, Li Yundi and Su Mang took pictures together at the Great Wall. It seems like they were hanging out and having fun during Mother’s Day.
The cast of Hurry Up, Brother is filming in the Czech Republic. Dilireba was not present, which has led to speculations that Angelababy will take over from her for the rest of the season.
I think it is funny that both Angelababy and Huang Xiao Ming were taking similar pictures at landmarks on opposite sides of the world.
Edit: a fan of Dilireba was nice to update us that Dilireba just arrived in Prague. She probably had some scheduling conflict and that is why she wasn’t in the group pics with the rest of the cast.
Update:
Jane Zhang and Xu Wei Zhou have been invited to the Billboard Music Awards on May 21st as representatives of Chinese music. It is the first time that Billboard has invited Chinese musicians to participate in the award ceremony. 1 2
Fan Bing Bing showed up to a Louis Vuitton event in Japan with a new haircut wowing the internet. This just shows that she can look fabulous in every hairstyle.
Ruby Lin and Wallace Huo were seen on a tour in Kyoto.
P.S. Please let me know if you can’t see some pictures.
FBB looks amazing with the short bob. She is so just so chic and photogenic

It’s so strange how Ode to Joy 2 is in the 8:00-10:00 time slot and Fighter of the Destiny is in 10:00-12:00. They better not cut some sexy time moments in Ode to Joy to comply to the airing time.

Wew, is that Tang Yixin in the stills of Legend of Ruyi? So much Legend of Zhenhuan feels! I hope it airs soon.

I dont think she is on it, but not a 100% sure. It does feel a lot like Zhenhuan.

I’m excited for Ruyi
And awww at Wallace and Ruby. Finally he got some time off to spend with her. Hopefully media can stop with their non-sense now.
Lost love in time teaser look good although I’m not sure sure if I love the styling

They looked so cute trying to blend in on their tour date ^^ I dont like the styling for the male actors, idk something about their whole look was a miss for me. I do like how ShiShi looks bc she looks like a sorcerer.

Yay! Thanks for the post! =D
Ruyi’s posters look so clustered and zoomed out. Wished they zoomed in more so we can see more details. Hahaha
Shishi’s role looks great in lost love! the trailer was a less interesting than I anticipated…
wow to that haunted looking poster! It looks super interesting and Chilam is in it! =D
FBB looks great with short hair! Is this the first time her hair is that short? I can’t seem to recall her with short hair at all!

I think they were trying to go for old fashion/realistic with the posters. But I agree, I like HQ pictures.
I have never seen FBB with short hair before, she is rocking it! I swear she was born to walk red carpets, her styling is always on point.

It’s very artsy and how else are they going to fit all the women in the harem in one shot?

It’s artsy indeed. hahah they would need a 20×16 poster for fit all those people!

House that never dies looks interesting. I like the fact that is based on an actual “haunted house”.
ShiShi looks great, the rest… not so much, but I have faith.
Yeah! I feel that it is pointless to stop Dilireba from filming the last two episodes of the show. So I am glad one of her fans cleared it up.
