    To me, Who Rules the World has a lot of tropes that were pieced together just OK. Probably the script’s problems – Things must be easy to understand. Complex motivations simplified.

    Yang Yang does look less stiff than in Love O2O. His role isn’t still demanding on acting abilities. Cast who are not extras or minions all look “clean” and pretty much at their best. Easy on the eyes but I feel ambivalent about it.

    Although the fighting is not old school wuxia, it is much better than xianxia offerings or the high wuxia low xianxia Snow Sword Stride.

    Right now there is a good chance that the ML will have a highly predictable but completely different from the novel (and very likely out of character) ending. Because of this, I’m prepared to drop this drama at anytime.
