Celebrity News

Earlier this month, singer Huo Zun found himself under extreme fire when his now ex-girlfriend, Chen Lu, exposed his cheating behavior on social media. The dancer claims that they had been together for 9 years, and that she had been the one supporting him before he become popular. The two began dating back in 2012, and were caught by reporters sometime in 2017. And while she wanted to go public with their relationship, Huo Zun refused and wanted to conceal their relationship. As Huo Zun’s popularity grew, he began cheating around and eventually wanted to break up with her. Apparently, he even tried to tried to get his friends to help him break up with her.

Chen Lu’s revelation caused Huo Zun to be criticized by fans and netizens. Although he posted an apology to her and fans, he failed to get people’s remorse. On August 14th, he eventually decided to leave the industry and will no longer continue his entertainment career.

Meanwhile, Zhang Zhe Han is also actor to face harsh criticism by all of China due to past pictures posted on social media. Earlier this month, netizens dug out photos the actor posted in the past in which he visited a controversial shrine in Japan. Zhang Zhe Han stated he was attending a friend’s wedding in the same area, but his lack of consideration towards the horrific past between China and Japan made people furious for his actions.

The shrine that Zhang Zhe Han visited is called the Yasukuni Shrine, a place dedicated to deceased Japanese soldiers and figures, including those who fought during the first Sino Japanese war. The photos sparked outrage among many, many Chinese citizens as it represents a dark and horrific time in Chinese history. Zhang Zhe Han’s careless and lack of sympathy for his country’s history enraged people, including the Chinese government.

Needless to say, to this day, this has been a big blow to his career, as most (pretty much all) of his endorsement deals have been terminated. And any future projects of his are probably not going to air anymore. For instance, his upcoming police film Formed Police Unit with Huang Jing Yi and Wang Yi Bo has officially decided to end ties with him and will edit his scenes in the film. His past dramas such as Word of Honor, Legend of Yun Xi, and The Blooms At Ruyi Pavilion are also expected to be taken down from Chinese platforms. All in all, Zhang Zhe Han’s entertainment career has officially ended. Whether he will be able to make a comeback within a few years is questionable, but we’ll have to see. The best thing for now is to lay low and keep himself out of trouble.

    1. I’m excited about it too!! Hahaha. I actually am a fan of Hou Ming Hao. ^_^ But I do think he definitely needs to improve on his acting a bit though.

  1. How are your impressions of the recent dramas you’ve watched so far? Or perhaps this will go on a separate post?
I’ve only gotten around to 1 ep of One and Only so I want to know if I’m missing out a bit lol

    1. I’ve dropped Dream in Chang An. I just couldn’t get into it… It’s very hard for me to watch, and I did not like Cheng Yi’s character. I’m ready to see him do different roles.
I’m actually a bit hesitant to watch One and Only. I read the novel a few years ago, and I really enjoyed the beginning. But the later half of the novel threw me off. I really liked the female lead, Shi Yi. She is very charming and likable. I like that she was very independent and hardworking, but all that literally disappears when she reunites with the male lead. Once she’s with him, he literally dictates everything in her life for her. It was soooo hard to read once they were together because I didn’t like that he literally made every decision for her, as if she wasn’t capable of doing it herself (sorry, just ranting…!). Anyway, I probably will check it out some time soon, though. I am interested in it. I just don’t want to be disappointed.
One drama that I watched recently binged watch is Trial Marriage–and I love it! It’s short and super entertaining. I like the two leads and I think their chemistry is really good!
I also planned to check out Bai Ling Tan, but I was disappointed in what I saw in the trailers. So I’m on the fence on if I want to watch it or not…
Also, I’m almost done with You Are My Glory… I put it on pause when I started Trial Marriage, but I’m hoping to be done with it this week! Just a few more episodes to go!!!

      1. I’m also ready for Cheng Yi to play other roles and perhaps a drama with a production company that is not his company lol. For One and Only, haven’t found the time much to finish the next episode… but the cinematography is shot beautifully and so far it is okay. For the novel, I felt that first half was more interesting than the second half. It seems like they went a bit cliche on the later half. I got bored around the second half if I recalled correctly lol. It’s been a while since I’ve read the novel so I’m not remembering the details as much, which helps with the drama-watching since I’m sure they have added extra stuff for the historical portion.
Will add Trial Marriage to my to-watch list!
