    1. I’m just worry over the script and the number of episodes lol. I don’t know how I would enjoy having them throw shades at one another for 30 minutes straight (assuming one episode is 40-50 mins long).

      1. I think it will be like Battle of Changsha, which was mainly about real characters, family relationships, romance, growing up, etc. I liked what these two writers did with BoC so I am hopeful it will be similar. I am just glad that no one is fighting for the throne, I am kind of over that.
In my case, my main worry is that it will be a bit slow paced.

        1. I agree about the pacing. I’m worried about that too since the novel isn’t as action pack (doesn’t need to be considering the time period). It’s just they might spend all their time showing the characters sitting around a table and chatting away. It’s great to see different quirks in their interactions with one another, but the plot doesn’t move as much if all they do that episode is talk. Unless it’s the dramatic talk where one of them (the secondary evil characters) gets punished in the end lol. But anyhow, the writers’ previous works assured us here. I’m over throne fighting too lol which is why I’m not as invested in Win the World or Ruyi … just watching for the cast…

          1. same! I am anticipating those for cast and costumes. I feel like Minglan will be a lot like Battle of Changsha without the war backdrop. The heart of that drama was the realistic characters and family dramatics, but at least it had the tension of war so I am curious to see what they will add to Minglan to increase the stakes. From a synopsis I saw I think they are going to make MingLan seek revenge for her mother’s death, which would make sense since in this version it is actually her mother who is killed. But I do anticipate a sort of slow moving plot. I think it will mainly be character driven.

    1. Yes! It’s by the same writer who wrote the script for Tribes and Empires (same person who is the original author). Basically you can considered them parent stories to one another. Same universe but centering around a different group of people (I believe Novoland Eagle Flag centers around the wing tribe).

  2. I just noticed that in the Minglan stills, FFS has a moustache. *spoilers up ahead* Lmfao i think they must be filming up to the scenes where him and ZLY are married. Her fringe has disappeared as well. So they must be a quarter way through filming the series. Eeeekkk so excited!

Love the fashion shoots too, especially Gao Yuan Yuan, ugh she is so goddess is all I can say. Too cute how Mark’s photos are beneath hers hehe
