December Airing Schedule

List of dramas and movies to air in the month of December . This list will be updated as more releases are announced.

December dramas:

Candle in the Tomb, starring Chen Qiao En and Jin Don, is a web drama based on the Chinese web novel series, “Ghost Blows Out the Light”.  It is  confirmed that the drama will air December 12th with 12 episodes. 

Beauty Private Kitchen starring Zheng Shuang and Ma Tian Yu to air December 4th with 40 episodes. Story is about Song Yu Die, a renowned chef in the Jiangnan area, was actually a lost Song Dynasty princess. She grew up among the commoners and learned her trade from her adoptive mother. Just when she was about to marry her childhood sweetheart, she got entangled in a warfare between a Song prince and a Jin general. To settle the conflicts between the two countries, she left her beloved to marry her country’s enemy.

Stay With Me starring Chen Qiao En, Wang Kai, and Kimi Qiao to air December 11th with 45 episodes.

The Legendary Flying Daggers starring Yang Rong and Hawick Lau to air December 5th with 42 episodes. (synopsis)

Rouge Emperor, a TVB drama with 12 episodes, starring Kenneth Ma and Niki Chow to air December 12th. The story is a remake of the 1981 drama, The Misadventure of Zoo. It centers around a villager named Chu Gam Chun. One day, a soothsayer said he would one day become the penultimate Emperor of China. While he initially brushed it aside, a series of events and blunders would eventually make it come true.

The Legend of Chusen 2 starring Li Yifen, Yangzi, and Zhao Liying to air December 8th with 16 episodes.

December movies:

Cherry Returns starring Hu Ge will be in theater December 9th.

Railroad Tiger starring Jackie Chan, Huang Zitao, and Wang Kai will be in theatre December 30th! 

The Great Wall starring Matt Damon, Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe and Andy Lau in theater December 16th.

Blood of Youth starring Ou Huo, Zhang Yi, and Guo Xiao Dong in theater December 16th.

The Ferryman (aka See You Tomorrow) starring Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and Angelababy in theater December 23rd.

Super Express is a 2016 Chinese action comedy film directed by Song Xiao and starring Chen He, Song Ji-hyo, and David Belle. It was released on December 2nd.

Suddenly Seventeen is a 2016 Chinese fantasy romance drama film starring Ni Ni, Wallace Huo and Darren Wang. It is the directorial debut of Zhang Mo. It is scheduled for release on December 9th. 

Sword Master (Chinese: 三少爺的劍) is a 2016 Chinese 3D martial arts film directed by Derek Yee. Starring Lin Genxing and Peter Ho, the film was released on December 2nd.

The Wasted Time held their press conference and finally announces the release date of the film: December 16thGe You and Zhang Ziyi star in a story of love, hatred, and betrayal in Shanghai during the chaotic, war-torn 1930’s.

  1. I just saw that Legend of Chusen Season 2 will start airing December 8th. I am a bit tempted. I dont think I learned my lesson.

      1. lol I know! There is a bit of hope that things will change once he goes bad. I have sat through 55 episodes to see him go bad so I feel like I should keep on.

  2. finals coming so no time to watch anything these days~ v_v Else, I would have picked on Private Kitchen since I remember liking the trailer when it first got released years ago 😛

      1. Yeah 😦 Hopefully it’s disproved. I am not a fan of YM but it does seem that their marriage has never been blessed by the media and fans from the beginning and it seems unfair to them.

        1. yes, totally agree. They found happiness with each other and it sucks that the media can’t get over the fact that they are happily married. They definitely have the most (often unfound) rumors.
